A physical installation of the 108 ‘provisional metres’ created during the course of étalon. Calculated from 108 individual measurements of the Earth (using a GPS receiver, a laser rangefinder, and a custom target) each bar is a unique length (ranging from 997mm to 1012mm), representing a physical act of surveying/calibration undertaken during the performance.
